Fever Blisters Symptoms

A friction blister is a small pocket of fluid within the upper layers of the skin. Forceful rubbing or friction usually causes them. Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid called serum. Blisters can also be filled with pus if they become infected. Blisters are believed to be one of the most common sports injuries. Blisters are caused from a number of different things including allergies, infections, friction, medicines you're on and some other reasons as well. The main cause of blisters is due to friction or too much skin irritability. Fever blister is caused by contagious virus. It is highly contagious when fever blisters are present. It can passed by direct contact such as a kiss, oral sex, or through contact with infected towel, toothbrush, food utensils, and any other shared things.

There is no cure for fever blisters, but there are several medications and remedies available to treat fever blisters. You can find treatment from doctor or dentist. They usually will give Prescription antiviral medications that are used to treat herpes infections that have been approved by the FDA. If left on their own, fever blisters will heal within two weeks. But, with so many fever blister treatment options, why let yourself suffer for that long? It is easy to find over the counter medicines that work to speed healing and reduce pain. Blisters are very common, especially on people who are active. Most blisters are easy to treat but if you feel uncomfortable treating it on your own, or think that your blister may be infected, contact your local podiatrist for a professional opinion.

Symptoms of Fever blister start with itching, soreness and tingling in a day or two, after that appears small, red and painful blisters and usually located on the skin of the lips, mouth, and face. Allergic contact dermatitis may bring about blisters. This type of blisters is usually caused by a chemical such as poison ivy and washing detergents. Insect bites and stings can also cause blisters to break out on the skin. Burns of any kind, including sunburn, can cause blisters to form. Irritating chemicals coming in contact with the skin may also create blisters. Extremely cold conditions can result in frostbite, which can cause blisters when the skin is re-warmed.

In most cases, blisters are not that painful. As long as the irritant is avoided (example, blisters on the feet will not be painful as long as you stop wearing uncomfortable or tight shoes ). In severe cases - which are very rare, blisters can be very painful. In the event that the blister forms a small tear in the outer skin, treat it in the same way as if you had punctured it using the above steps. If the tear is larger, "un-roof" the blister by carefully removing the loose skin with sterilized scissors. If you consult a doctor about your blisters, he will performed physical examination on you and ask you questions about your family medical history, as well as the illness and medications you care currently taking.
