Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes

Rheumatoid arthritis affects the many joints in our bodies and is not prominent in any one place over the other. This type of arthritis also affects the heart, lungs and the blood as well. Rheumatoid arthritis is the inflammation of synovium, or joint lining. The injured tissues cause reddening, swelling and pain in the particular area. Apart from inflammatory joints, this disease can even hit one's internal organs such as lungs, eyes and heart. There are treatments that can help to lessen the frequency of the symptoms and treatments that can be used to alleviate the pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis. There are also studies showing that rheumatoid arthritis can be inherited. There have been worldwide researches performed to seek the main cause of this disease. And with that many researches conducted, all of experts behind them can't rule genetics as a factor.

Rheumatoid arthritis can cause total disability. Even if this doesn't happen instantly, the mere fact that a patient may eventually lose his or her mobile functions should be enough to cause concern whenever the symptoms of this disease show. Chronic pain means that the pain recurs from time to time. Arthritis comes in different forms. If you merely suffer from joint pains, what you may have is not rheumatoid arthritis. But it is always best to have it checked so that the symptoms can be properly addressed. Four of the factors used in diagnosing the disease must be present for six weeks before a positive diagnosis can be made. As mentioned, joint pain is one of the first symptoms rheumatoid arthritis sufferers report, but joint pain is also present in osteoarthritis, a much more common disease.

If early warning signs can be identified before the common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis appear, then doctors may be able to prevent the disease from progressing to the point where joint deformity occurs. Some less common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include: inflammation of the lining around the heart and lungs, inflammation of the tear and salivary glands, and in rare cases, general inflammation of the lungs and blood vessels. The latest research has revealed that when people with rheumatoid arthritis are administered two infusions of rituximab 1-2 weeks apart, the number of B-cells in the blood falls drastically.

Rheumatoid arthritis causes chronic inflammation and degeneration of the joints, especially the fingers, hands, shoulders, knees, feet, and ankles. The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is still unknown. Some people with rheumatoid arthritis have other family members with the same disease. Genetics is a probable cause of rheumatoid arthritis. Virus, bacteria, and fungi infections are suspected to trigger rheumatoid arthritis, but have not been scientifically proven yet. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to produce cells that attack its own tissues. This results in inflammation that damages the joints and surrounding muscle.

There are three categories of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis: polyarticular, pauciaticular, and systematic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. These three categories have different symptoms and require different appropriate treatment. Steroid medications can be prescribed for the most seriously affected patients, but those also have serious side effects, such as bone loss, suppress the body's immune system and increase blood sugar levels.
