Adrenal Glands Fatigue Treatment

Many people with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis have adrenal fatigue. Your adrenal glands are two tiny pyramid-shaped pieces of tissue situated right above each kidney. Their job is to produce and release, when appropriate, certain regulatory hormones and chemical messengers. It may also be a concern for people with chronic illnesses or disorders who need to regulate their hormones in order to be able to function well and healthily on a daily basis. A currently popular choice these days for regulating hormones is the use of cortisol and/or adrenal cell extracts. Natural ways of treating any condition tend to look for the cause and address that. This is logically the best way to resolve any health condition. And probably the only way to treat adrenal fatigue.

The biggest problem with insomnia medications is the heavy side effects that they carry. Don't believe me? Just take a look at the fine print in an insomnia ad appearing in a magazine. You will notice that they have to buy an extra page of ad space just to list all of the side effects. The list includes weight gain that you cannot seem to lose, often coming down with the flu or other respiratory infections, upper back pain, neck pain, lack of or reduced sex drive, dizzy upon rising, hard to wake up in the morning, need that cup of coffee in the morning to rev up, less energy in the morning and late afternoon, feel a bit better after eating, and the tendency to tremble or shake when stressed. Of these the hormones, 'Cortisol' is particularly significant as it deals with long term related stress problems. When these glands fail to manage the perpetual fight-or-flight arousal, or cannot release the adequate amount of hormones to make you feel good, you may suffer from what is called the 'adrenal fatigue'.

Although traditional medical practitioners do not recognize it as a valid syndrome caused by chronic stress, herbal and alternative practitioners have a number of remedies to treat a range of non-specific symptoms and address the root cause of stress by helping our bodies adapt to stressful situations better. However, there are some things you can do to speed this up. Start by finding out what causes you stress and cut it out of your life completely. Simply doing this will help a great deal. Also avoid caffeine at all costs. Coffee and caffeinated tea can actually cause symptoms to become more severe. The main reason why these glands get weakened is because of continued stress coupled with poor nutrition. Extreme negative emotions like anger, fear, worry, anxiety, depression and guilt can also result in exhaustion.

Once you have the results you will be able to find treatment that will help you conquer not only the symptoms but also your stress, which is often the most prominent cause of adrenal fatigue. It is the adrenal glands production of cortisol that helps us deal with stress, and our stores are being constantly depleted. Excess demand means we lose the ability to recover so efficiently.
